More than 30 MC members gathered for the first meeting of the REMINDNET Action.
After the presentation of COST and the structure of the Action, the Chair introduced the REMINDNET Action and the VSB-Technical University of Ostrava, as the Grant Holder Institution.
Following the discussions in the Working groups, the WG leaders were nominated, the Core Group of this Action was established and the work and budget plan for the first year was agreed.

COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) is a funding agency for research and innovation networks. Our Actions help connect research initiatives across Europe and enable scientists to grow their ideas by sharing them with their peers. This boosts their research, career and innovation.
The extraction of minerals and metals from the earth crust is as old as human mankind. The management of mine closure and post-closure is getting more and more attention because in Europe as well as worldwide many regions are affected by environmental residues such as tailings, waste dumps, subsidences, contaminated water which is the result of unsatisfactory environmental performance of the mining industry in the past.
