The final meeting of the second year of the REMINDNET COST Action (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) was successfully hosted by Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University in Rize on 8–10 September 2025.
Themed “Good Practice Guides for the Management of Raw Materials’ Extraction Legacies”, the event brought together over 30 expert scientists from across Europe.
During the three-day program:
✅ The Core Group (CG) Meeting focused on operational decisions and short-term planning.
✅ The Management Committee (MC) and Working Group (WG) Meetings addressed strategic priorities, budgets, reporting, and joint publications.
✅ A technical visit to Çayeli Bakır İşletmeleri A.Ş. provided participants with valuable insights into one of the region’s leading mining operations.
These international meetings strengthened scientific collaboration, created opportunities for young researchers, increased Türkiye’s scientific visibility, and contributed to strategic science diplomacy.
